The Wetaskiwin Longhorns got down to business this week.
After players were back on the ice for casual skates to shake the summer rust off, Longhorns manager Rob Wallace said camp got underway Wednesday with a focus on a championship after the Innisfail Eagles ended the Longhorns’ season.
“Last year, we had a very good shot at (a championship), but there were some things that needed to change. This year, we’re starting off the right foot.”
With some new faces expected to join the herd, Wallace said there is a focus on team culture this year. One of the things he stressed to the players and staff was to take the summer off and not think about hockey.
“I really stressed that this summer. Even during our golf tournament I did not want them talking about hockey. They listened and we’re in
