A Colorado man claims he "accidentally" shot his wife in the chest while "clearing his gun" and then "attempted CPR for about an hour" before finally calling 911 to report what happened, cops say.

David O'Grady, 36, is facing domestic violence and first-degree murder charges for the Sept. 7 shooting at the couple's home in the 5200 block of Shawnee Way in Aurora, according to court records and the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office .

His wife, Taylor Dawn Last, 29, was found dead inside the home after officers responded on Sunday morning at around 7:45 a.m., O'Grady's arrest affidavit alleges.
