KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said wide receiver Xavier Worthy will continue rehabbing his injured shoulder as he was set to miss the first practice of Week 2.

Reid told reporters Wednesday that Worthy and rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals would both miss practice.

“Both are doing better,” Reid said, “working on it and making progress. Just not ready to go today, for sure.”

Worthy suffered a dislocated shoulder on the third play of Friday night’s season-opener against the Los Angeles Chargers. Reid said surgery was not a consideration right now for Worthy.

“He’s just rehabbing here,” Reid said.

Royals missed the Week 1 game and did not travel to Brazil as he deals with knee tendinitis. Reid said he will probably not play Sunday in a Super Bowl remat
