JONESBORO — The Clayton County Police Department is seeking help in finding a suspect wanted for a May murder on Mt. Zion Parkway and is offering a $5,000 reward for information to help solve the case.

In a Wednesday, Sept. 10 press release, the CCPD said the suspect, Teon Smith, is wanted in a connection to a May 21 murder.

On May 21 at about 3 a.m., Jaden Pierce, 22, was murdered in the parking lot of the Skyboxx ATL, 2180 Mt. Zion Parkway, Jonesboro.

The CCPD said an investigation revealed that while at the location, Pierce was involved in a dispute with 18-year-old Xavier Pickett, 18, and Smith, 27, which ultimately resulted in Pierce being robbed and shot.x

Pickett has since been arrested and is awaiting trial at the Clayton County Jail, police said, but Smith is still at-large.
