Longtime Jefferson County Clerk Bobbi Holsclaw has died, her office announced Sept. 10. She was 81 years old.
Holsclaw was first elected in 1998 to lead the office responsible for overseeing elections in Jefferson County. The office, which has more than 275 employees, also manages records for vehicle tags, marriage licenses and property deeds.
"For over two decades, Bobbie served the citizens of Jefferson County with integrity and honor," a press release from the office read. "Throughout her distinguished career, Bobbie made lasting contributions through her work at the Clerk's Office, leaving an indelible mark on this community with her many accomplishments. As a public servant, Bobbie leaves behind a legacy of leadership, compassion, and integrity."
