SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- Roundabouts have started popping up around Central New York and some of you are not happy.

Some people fear that the traffic will be confusing, or, in the words of one Cicero homeowner, "these people don't know how to drive as it is."

The evolution of highway intersections into roundabouts stems from New York's "roundabout first" policy, which requires highway designers to first consider the feasibility of a roundabout. Go to page 96 of this PDF of the state's Highway Design Manual.
