A suspect is now in custody connecting to the shooting of Charlie Kirk .

The 31-year-old Turning Point USA co-founder and media personality was shot in the neck at an event on Wednesday (September 10) at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

The incident occurred during a Q&A with students, according to bystanders, via Deseret News .

A university bulletin sent out to students claimed that the campus is on lockdown and a suspect is in custody. It is reportedly an older man who was taken in by authorities.

“A single shot was fired on campus toward a visiting speaker. Police are investigating now, suspect in custody,” the alert reads.
