NEWARK — The first Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant that opened on Newark’s Main Street abruptly closed Wednesday, along with two other locations in Philadelphia and New Jersey.

Iron Hill Brewery Marketing Manager Kate Sansom confirmed that the brewery and restaurant chain has closed three locations, in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia and Voorhees Township, New Jersey. That leaves 16 locations across the East Coast, including markets like South Carolina, Georgia and more in the greater Philadelphia region.

Iron Hill Brewery still runs two other locations in Delaware at the Riverfront in Wilmington and along Delaware Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach. The decision to close the Newark location came just a few months shy of the brewpub’s 30th anniversary in 2026.
