The boys of Spinal Tap managed to, well, tap into a music legend for the upcoming comedy “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.”
Paul McCartney appears in the highly anticipated sequel to 1984’s cult classic “This Is Spinal Tap,” dropping by for a session with the band. McCartney is also one of several musical luminaries who appear on the soundtrack .
Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer, who make up the hapless heavy metal trio Spinal Tap, say the former Beatle’s inclusion in the film, which opens Sept. 12, was based on real life.
