An 18-year-old Wyoming driver is dead after crashing into a bull, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.

It happened around 10:46 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, near mile marker 3 on Wyoming 338, north of Sheridan.

According to a fatality crash summary , a trooper was attempting to put a Black Angus bull into a fenced area when it "entered the roadway, crossed the center line, and entered the southbound lane of travel."

The patrol says Laylie Laumbach, who was behind the wheel of a southbound Honda Accord, "was unaware of the bull and collided with it, causing the Honda to leave the roadway to the right, drive through the right-of-way fence, and come to an uncontrolled rest against a tree in a river-bottom."

Laumbach was wearing a seat belt but, sadly, didn't survive the crash.
