MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - An addiction treatment center in Martinsville is opening a methadone clinic to provide another recovery resource and address a large need in the area.

Brightview is expanding its services to help people who are struggling and fill a need in the community.

“You can’t do this internally by yourself,” said Timothy Carter, Henry County Resident. “The people here have been a big help.”

Timothy Carter was addicted to drugs for over 40 years. But once Brightview opened three years ago, he was able to turn his life around.

“Before, Martinsville Henry County didn’t have an outlet like that. So, pretty much you went to jail, you went back to the street, and if you’re an addict, you have to have the dope. So, it’s just a vicious cycle,” added Carter.
