A Chicago business owner is going public with her struggles to keep her doors open after being hit by crime, violence and other issues.
The owner of Fatburger in Chatham told NBC Chicago she's not letting this stop her from giving back to her South Side neighborhood.
Jackie Jackson said she opened Fatburger at 825 E. 87th St. last November and since then has added extra security measures to protect her small business and employees, including installing security doors and protective glass windows for the counter.
"I have panic buttons installed, I have a big eight-inch rod iron fence, I have a very high-tech security system, and now I have the Chicago Police Department that's gonna be here," Jackson said.
