Township CAO on leave

The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands council has appointed Marnie Venditti to several acting positions while chief administrative officer Stephen Donachey is on medical leave.

At its Sept. 8 meeting, council unanimously approved a series of bylaws that name Venditti as acting CAO, deputy clerk and an alternate lottery licensing officer for the township. Council also amended its screening and hearing officer bylaw to appoint the director of corporate services/treasurer and municipal clerk as screening officers.

The appointments, council heard, were necessary to ensure the continuation of business and to avoid gaps in administrative coverage.
