WEST LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
After sitting empty for a decade, the historic Broadway “castle," once home to Bond Bread, is poised for a second act.
Von Payne Spirits, the gothic-inspired brand known for gargoyle-adorned bottles, has purchased the 60,000-square-foot landmark in west Louisville’s California neighborhood and plans to transform it into “The Von Payne Castle,” a distillery and tasting destination they say will be unlike anything else on the Bourbon Trail.
“All you have to do is use a little imagination, and this thing can turn itself into anything you want, which is what’s exciting for us,” said Steve Allen, founder of Von Payne Spirits.
