Maxey writes survival guide after years in business world

Surprise resident Bob Maxey had never thought about writing a book.

But then the 72-year-old resident of The Grand got the idea to expose some of the secrets of the business world that he had learned over three decades and furiously went to work.

After only three weeks, he produced “The Great Corporate Lie: An Autopsy of the American Corporation,” which was published on Aug. 18 and has already sold a few dozen copies on Amazon.

“I was amazed at myself,” Maxey said. “I just became consumed with that. I literally would work 12 to 14 hours a day on the book, and just loved it.”

The book has two parts: the first of which talks about coprorate myths and issues such as employee and employer loyalty.
