Cambridgeshire is home to one of the few areas in the UK where you can still buy a property for £150,000 or less.
Just 12 per cent of all homes for sale across Great Britain are priced under this threshold, according to new research by Zoopla - but there are still bargains to be had in certain locations.
The property listings website named Peterborough as one of the places where it's still possible for first time buyers to get on the property ladder. The city has the largest share of properties priced under £150k in the East of England. However, it notes that flats are the most common affordable option, something it says reflects "the high demand and limited land supply" in a "densely populated area".
It says 1,010 - or 13% - of the homes for sale in Peterborough at the start of thi
