Popular left-wing streamer Hasan Piker is urging his audience to refrain from joking about the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk .

Kirk died on Wednesday after being shot during an event on the campus of Utah Valley University, President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social platform. Kirk, 31, was the founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA and a staunch supporter of the Make America Great Again movement.

Video footage widely shared on social media showed attendees running from the event after Kirk appeared to be shot near his neck. Both Democrats and Republicans immediately condemned the shooting , with many describing the incident as an act of political violence.
