Drake Maye experienced some growing pains in the New England Patriots ' 20-13 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1. The 2024 No. 3 pick went 30-of-46 passing for 287 yards, one touchdown and one interception in his first game in offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' scheme.

Per Tom Carroll of WEEI 93.7, Maye was asked Wednesday if he felt McDaniels put too much on his plate this year. Maye answered that he didn't feel like he had been asked to do too much but acknowledged he's feeling heat as one of the 32 starting quarterbacks in the league.

“Like I said previously, any time you’re playing quarterback in the NFL, there’s a lot on your plate," Maye said. "You’re playing quarterback for one of 32 teams. That’s a lot. And I don’t take it for granted, what a special position it is in
