SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - A Springfield church continues to provide access to free and safe showers.

Personal hygiene can be challenging to keep up without constant access to things like soap and shampoo.

Springfield charities, such as Freeway Ministries recognized the need for free access to showers and personal hygiene supplies.

The Get Clean Shower Truck from Freeway Ministries began in 2023 and now picks up about 40 people every Tuesday for their free shower program at their church on West Kearney.

They are also given the options of hygiene products, clothes, and new underwear and socks.

Freeway Ministries founder John Stroup says he understands the importance of having a safe place to shower from experience.
