Much like other areas of the team, the Colorado defensive line is a work in progress.
Two games into the season, however, defensive line coach Domata Peko is pleased with the progression of his group.
“Our guys are getting better,” Peko said after practice on Wednesday. “This has been our best week of practice from all of camp to week one, week two. The guys are really coming together now and taking pride in the run.”
A group loaded with experience, but also newcomers, the line struggled in a 27-20 loss to Georgia Tech in Week 1. The defense gave up 320 rushing yards to the Yellow Jackets, who averaged 6.8 yards on their 47 attempts.
“I mean, anytime someone comes in your house and puts up 300 rushing yards, you’re gonna have a bad taste in your mouth,” defensive tackle Anquin Barnes s
