A 19-year-old man who was shot by officers during a foot pursuit in Stockton on Tuesday has died, according to the police department.

Officials said the shooting stemmed from an enforcement stop just after 6 p.m. in the area of Doray Court and Pixie Drive.

Stockton police said the man, identified as Rocco Robinson, of Stockton, was sitting in a vehicle that was double-parked on Doray Court when officers approached him. He tried to leave the vehicle, and officials said he did not follow orders from the officers.

The police department said a struggle ensued and "despite multiple commands, he remained non-compliant, aggressively pulling away and ultimately breaking free."
