A supposed raid by federal agents on a Santa Fe senior living center on Wednesday turned out to be yet another unfounded rumor.

Social media sites in the city were awash Wednesday morning with stories of masked federal agents invading the Brooksdale Santa Fe location at 640 Alta Vista St. — apparently a reaction to widespread fears of immigration officials staging raids in Santa Fe as they have done in other communities across the country. Such rumors have become common in Santa Fe amid stepped-up immigration enforcement under the second Trump administration.
