Authorities are investigating after a Los Angeles police officer shot someone in North Hills on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Police Department was called just before 5:30 p.m. to Parthenia Street near the 405 Freeway for reports of a man with a gun, according to the department. Details on what led up to the shooting were not immediately available, but LAPD said an “officer needs help” call was advised via radio.

Police did not say what injuries the man may have suffered in the shooting. The extent of his wounds was unclear.
