An extremely rare win against a team from the Southeastern Conference team was not to be for Utah State’s football team this past Saturday against now-No. 16 Texas A&M, but USU performed much better than it did it in recent games against Power 4 Conference programs Alabama and USC.

A rough second quarter essentially sealed USU’s fate against Texas A&M in front of an announced crowd of 100,026 at Kyle Field. The SEC Aggies outscored the Mountain West Aggies 21-0 during the quarter on their way to a 44-22 victory. The visitors finished with a ghastly minus-20 yards of total offense in the second quarter as quarterback Bryson Barnes was sacked four times, including on back-to-back-to-back plays by the same defensive end.
