AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo Sod Poodles defeated the Midland RockHounds by a score of 4-0 on Wednesday.
With the win, Amarillo claims the best record in the Texas League South for the second half of the season and clinches the third playoff berth in program history.
It was a dominant display offensively for the Sod Poodles, with eight on the nine batters registering at least one hit.
Manuel Pena lead the way, going 4-5 at the plate while scoring one of the team’s four total runs.
Ryan Waldschmidt, LuJames Groover, Gavin Conticello — who hit his 10th homerun of the season — and Cristofer Torin were the other Sod Poodles with multiple hits, each of them with two.
