Former Iowa State football quarterback Brock Purdy 's health status is in question entering his team's NFL Week 2 game at the New Orleans Saints, according to San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan on Wednesday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Purdy didn't practice on Wednesday due to left shoulder and toe injuries he suffered in his team's Week 1 17-13 win at Seattle.

Shanahan also expressed long-term concern for the QB's health, saying that Purdy could miss "multiple weeks" and is a "long shot" to play on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Purdy had an up-and-down performance against the Seahawks, completing 26-of-35 passes for 277 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also added five rushes for 17 yards.
