SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Tuesday, the Bryan County Commission voted to roll back its millage rate for the ninth year in a row.

In 2016, the countywide millage rate was 9.185 mills. Now, that rate has been reduced to 5.770 mills.

The county says the purpose of the rollback is to keep the amount of taxes paid by each household steady from year to year, even when property values rise.

“Maintaining a reduced millage rate reflects our Board’s dedication to balancing fiscal responsibility with community needs,” said Carter Infinger, Chairman, Bryan County Board of Commissioners. “We are proud to have rolled back the millage rate for nine consecutive years, easing the burden on taxpayers while continuing to invest in the services that protect and enhance quality of life in Bryan County.”
