Rain and thunderstorm chances will increase across New Mexico later this week and into the weekend. Heavy rain will be possible in northern New Mexico Friday.

More storms moved through New Mexico Wednesday, mainly across western and northern parts of the state and along the central mountain chain. Showers and a few storms are still moving through northern New Mexico tonight, where a chance for rain will continue heading out the door Thursday morning.

Parts of northern New Mexico and southern Colorado will wake up to a few spotty showers Thursday morning. More rain and storms will develop by the afternoon across the western half of New Mexico into southwest Colorado.
