The death toll from devastating flooding on the Indonesian island of Bali has risen to nine as heavy rain continues to smash the holiday hotspot.
Continuous rain between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning caused major flooding, bringing down two buildings in the capital and killing four people, the head of the island’s search and rescue agency, I Nyoman Sidakarya, said.
That number has since been revised to five.
Four more people were killed in the regions of Jembrana, Gianyar and Badung, according to Reuters , while two people remain missing.
About 600 people have so far been affected, with nearly 200 evacuated to schools and mosques, the publication said.
