As time winds down to Election Day in New Orleans, some of the candidates for Orleans Parish Sheriff faced each other and faced the public.

"I'm not sure what this lawyer is talking about. I have no idea," said Hutson.

"You got tablets, but you don't have locks," said Shorty.

Voters who listened to the pair said their biggest concerns come down to safety, accountability, and conditions inside the jail.

Residents who attended the forum Wednesday night said hearing the candidates address major issues that has plagued the jail in recent months have them now prepared to make decisions.
