Conservative activist Charlie Kirk came to Utah Valley University in Orem on Wednesday as part of “The American Comeback Tour,” in which attendees are invited to debate the conservative political activist at a “Prove Me Wrong” table in a public setting.
Roughly 20 minutes into the outdoor event, Kirk was shot in the neck by an unknown shooter who is still on the loose, and Kirk died later today from the injury.
People gathered at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night to honor the life of the Turning Point USA founder. Deseret News photojournalist Scott Winterton was there to document the somber gathering following the shooting.
