Abandonment leaves deep wounds that many dogs never fully heal from. Left in unsafe places, these loyal animals have only one instinct, to keep going and stay alive.

Alejandro was one of those dogs.

When he was heartlessly left behind in a random orchard, he rushed to find a hiding place. But instead of shelter with warmth and safety, the only thing he discovered was a tiny cardboard box.

Waiting In The Box

When Fresno Humane Animal Services in California first came across Alejandro, they could hardly believe the scene.

The little pup was curled up inside a cardboard box , trying to escape the rain and the dangers around him. Yet, as rescuers leaned closer, he offered the sweetest grin. It almost looked like he had been waiting patiently for kindhearted humans to finally notice him
