People on Universal Credit are eligible for a Labour Party government bonus of up to £1,200. New figures from the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) show there are now 8 million people claiming Universal Credit .
Due to a rule change at the start of the new financial year, some 3 million Universal Credit claimants are now eligible for the ‘Help to Save’ scheme.
The extension of the scheme until April 2027 means more people on a low income can benefit from the scheme, which has paid out millions of pounds in bonuses to more than 500,000 people since Help to Save was launched in 2018.
