TORONTO — The Toronto football team has passed all three tests so far, but the Red Knights face their toughest one yet this week.

Toronto defeated rival Wellsville, 49-19, last Friday night up at Nicholson Stadium as the Red Knights and Tigers renewed their longtime rivalry.

“It went well,” Toronto (3-0) head coach Jaret Aubiel said about the game. “We executed the gameplan. A lot of kids got experience. It was a good night.”

This week, Toronto welcomes Newcomerstown (2-1) to Clarke Hinkle Field as the Red Knights and Trojans are set to meet at 7 p.m. Friday night

“They run a double tight wishbone,” Aubiel said about Newcomerstown. “The kids have bought in. The community has bought in. They have got a great coach. They are going to be a huge challenge for us.”
