The Texas A&M chapter of Turning Point USA is organizing a prayer vigil Thursday night to honor Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist who was fatally shot this week during a speaking event at Utah Valley University.

The group announced the vigil will take place at 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Rudder Plaza on the Texas A&M campus, after moving the date for security reasons.

The event comes as former President Donald Trump has ordered American flags nationwide to be lowered to half-staff in Kirk’s honor.

“In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M.,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
