AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN)- For years, honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001, has become a tradition in Austintown at the Austintown 9/11 Memorial Park.

For this year's ceremony, the Austintown Beautification Committee is pleased to welcome Timothy Kelty, a veteran of the United States Army's First Infantry Division.

He served in the 838th National Guard in Austintown, and currently serves as the Austintown Local Schools Superintendent. The ceremony will also feature musical selections by the Austintown Fitch High School Band & Concert Choir, as well as the Springfield High School Choir, a 21-gun salute, and an emergency vehicle display.

The committee says a great number of people were impacted on that day, and it's important to honor them every year.
