SAN FRANCISCO—Pierce’s Pledge is a local children advocacy non-profit, working to help chaotic children custody battle cases with lawyers, mediators, custody partners and judges. It is named in honor of the nine-year-old boy, who was killed in the midst of a custody battle by his own father in his apartment in San Francisco’s Marina District.

Pierce’s mother, Lesley Hu, has created an alliance with the San Francisco Police Department with support from District 2 Supervisor Stephen Sherrill and gun violence prevention leaders. Any San Franciscan can turn in their firearms to any of the ten district police stations across San Francisco for a year at no cost to the gun owners.
