KUTZTOWN, Pa. — Following the checkered flag shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday, Bill Rodgers looked ahead to an eight-hour drive through the middle of the night to be home in time to open his auto repair shop first thing Monday morning.
“It’s not really that bad,” Rodgers, 61, said of the 420-mile trip to Old Orchard Beach, Maine. “I fill a cup with ice and water, and I might stop somewhere and just close my eyes for 20 minutes or so. That’s really all I need.”
