Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan will reveal a new China strategy during her first visit to Beijing, about a week after her predecessor Daniel Andrews' controversial appearance in Tiananmen Square.

Allan is hoping China will invest more in Victoria after her crucial meeting on Monday.

"Growing our tourism. Growing education opportunities. Looking at shared areas like medtech and clean energy," she said, were her aims. 

It is Allan's first official trip to China since becoming Premier.

Andrews visited China every year until COVID-19 hit. He did not take any media with him on his final official visit in 2023.

He was photographed alongside dictators, like Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean President Kim Jong Un, in Tiananmen Square last week.
