PLEASANT HILL, Iowa —

Investigators say the man found Friday in the water at Copper Creek Lake in Pleasant Hill has died.

A local fisherman told KCCI that he found a dog wandering by itself near the area where he and his family were. Shortly thereafter, he saw a body floating in the water.

Crews were able to remove the man from the water. City leaders say emergency responders performed life-saving procedures on the man for approximately 30 minutes before he was taken to a local hospital.

On Saturday morning, Pleasant Hill authorities said the man, Greg Lewis, of Pleasant Hill, has died.

Pleasant Hill police Capt. Amy Kramer said there is no suspicion of foul play.
