Jermaine Franklin Jr. wins forgettable, questionable decision
The only heavyweight bout on the card was a pretty lackluster fight between Ivan Dychko and Jermaine Franklin Jr. The sparse crowd that was still filling into Allegiant Stadium offered boos at the end of most of the rounds, as the heavyweights labored through 10 rounds. Franklin Jr. closed the fight out strong, making things somewhat interesting in a fight that felt like Dychko was in control of for at least the first seven rounds. However, the judges saw things differently, offering unanimous scores of 96-93, 95-94, and 97-92 in favor of Franklin Jr., who improves to 24-2, while Dychko suffers his first loss, and is now 15-1.

Sultan Almohammed shines in pro debut
A four-round super featherweight banger saw 17-year-old Sultan Almohammed win his professional debut against Martin Caraballo. It was the first fight of the night to go the distance, and it was filled with action from beginning to end. Both fighters looked way more experienced than their records indicate, but it was ultimately Almohammed who repeatedly won exchanges with clean, powerful punches. The judges scored the bout 40-36 across the board, seeing Almohammed move to 1-0 while Caraballo falls to 0-1-1.
Another controversial stoppage in Raiko Santana vs. Steven Nelson
Raiko Santana unloaded a flurry of punches on Steven Nelson, causing him to fall backward into the ropes. It would have been a knockdown if the ropes hadn't held him up. The referee stepped between the fighters, but didn't begin a count. It was an awkward moment as Nelson thought he was going to be given an opportunity to continue, but the referee waved the fight off instead. Santana improves to 13-4 while Nelson falls to 20-2.
Marco Verde starts the action off with debated stoppage
Undefeated middleweight Marco Verde turned in a dominant display in the first fight of the evening, stopping Sona Akale at 1:11 of Round 4. Akale didn't like the referee's decision to stop the fight, but the result goes down as a TKO win for Verde, who improves to 3-0 while Akale falls to 9-4.
