RSPCA staff are appealing to find a home for 'gentle' dog Diesel who was abandoned by his previous owners and has spent almost half his life in kennels.
The two-year-old whippet was saved by officers after being found in a house in Hull, and moved to the charity's Great Ayton kennels last September. But, sadly he is now their longest resident. At first Diesel was shut down and wouldn't play or interact with anyone and it took centre staff many weeks to gain his trust and see his gentle and sociable personality gradually shine through.
He was adopted in February but sadly returned eight days later through no fault of his own. Diesel found it difficult returning to a kennel environment and staff at the centre worked with him again for many months.
