A person has died after being struck by an Orange Line train outside Vienna overnight into Saturday.
The initial investigation into their death shows that the person placed themselves onto the Metro tracks intentionally before they were hit, Metro said.

The person was struck just before 3 a.m. on Saturday, according to Fairfax County Fire Rescue. Investigators began searching and found a body half an hour later.
Fairfax County police investigators and investigators from WMATA were called in to help with the investigation at that point.
There were riders inside the Orange Line train at the time of the crash, Metrorail Info said.
