KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is investigating the death of a Maryville man on Fort Loudoun Lake Friday morning.
TWRA said it received a call around 11:15 a.m. for a report a possible drowning near the mouth of George's Creek. Wildlife officers responded to the scene and found a man floating face down in the water near an unmanned boat that was circling nearby.
The Blount County Rescue Squad recovered the victim from the water while TWRA officers were able to get the Ranger bass boat under control and stopped.
TWRA said the victim, Terry Alexander, 63, of Maryville, was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, where he was pronounced dead.
