(NewsNation) — Following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, companies nationwide are changing company social media policies and firing or placing employees on leave over posts about Kirk.
Several employers, including the Carolina Panthers, MSNBC and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), have carried out some kind of disciplinary action against staff members and have publicly remarked on Kirk's death.
A website has also been launched by Kirk supporters, calling for submissions of anyone who has made negative posts about his death with commentators’ names, job titles, place of employment or other identifying information from social media websites. The owners of the site write that they will permanently archive the posts and create a search feature.
