How safe is the Iron Bowl from a new era of scheduling in the SEC?
From the sound of it, Alabama football and Auburn's annual clash seems plenty safe, along with other strong rivalries around the conference. But according to SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey , all fixed games on the league's new scheduling format, which will include rivalry games, will be subject to review.
"It's not permanent. ... These are annual rivalry games, and we've acknowledged that we'll go through a four-year cycle, then take an examination, look deeply," Sankey said Saturday, Sept. 13, before the Alabama -Wisconsin game.
The league has yet to announce annual opponents for each school, but Alabama's most likely candidates aren't difficult to identify: Auburn, Tennessee and LSU.
