Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced Saturday.
Worthy was listed as doubtful for the Chiefs (0-1) in the Super Bowl LIX rematch as he dealt with a dislocated right shoulder. The injury was sustained after he collided with teammate Travis Kelce on a crossing route in the season opener.
Saturday’s news is not necessarily shocking, as Kansas City head coach Andy Reid said one day earlier that Worthy had a “slim” chance of playing.
