The Canadian women’s rugby team is one step closer to making history.

On Saturday, Canada put a thumping on rugby-crazed nation, Australia, during quarter-final action at the Women’s Rugby World Cup in Bristol, England.

Asia Hogan-Rochester scored a try barely two minutes into the game for Canada. Australia would tie the game soon after, but that was the only time they’d score in the match.

Canada proceeded to score six more tries en route to a 46-5 thrashing of Australia.

“It’s incredible,” Victoria, BC native Sophie de Goede told the media after scoring two tries for Canada in the victory. “We’re just rolling. This is another tick in the box. Real credit to Australia, it was a tough game. We’re looking forward to the semis.”
