OLIVET – The Portland and Olivet football programs were the preseason picks to finish at the top of the CAAC White this season. An early matchup in week three of the high school schedule pit the two against each other, with Portland knowing this could be the biggest game to capture in search of its fourth straight league crown.
Portland's priority was slowing down Olivet's high-powered offense, which put up 91 points through the first two weeks of the season. Not only did the Raiders accomplish that, holding Olivet scoreless in a 35-0 road win, but also contributed on the scoreboard – a 55-yard interception return touchdown from defensive end Carter White in the first quarter.
