A man was killed and a woman wounded in a shooting Friday evening, Sept. 12 in Wildomar, authorities said.
Deputies responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon around 7:15 p.m. in the 24000 block of Orange Street, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.
They located Jesus Monge, 64, and a 56-year-old woman, both Wildomar residents, suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced Monge dead at the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital. Her name was not immediately released.
Deputies identified the suspected gunman as David Jimenez, 33, also of Wildomar. He was detained nearby and later booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details were available.
